Flintshire County Council is on the ropes yet again and faces an uphill struggle to win back the good will and trust of its battered & financially stressed work force after a monumental “cock-up” somewhere at the top of the administration.  Who got it wrong? Whose head should roll?  When will members receive notification of what went wrong and when can this mess be rectified? What appals me is the of scale of the deductions.  Two leisure services members are each losing a gut wrenching £6K.  By chance, I spoke to them whilst dealing with a routine constituency enquiry and both ladies are beside themselves with worry.  A few hundred pounds for a few was what we had been led to believe and clearly no one has linked points for jobs with what it means in £/shillings and pence! Even the unions who were consulted every step of the way seem to have been misled too. Councillors have been badly let down by those paid well to protect this Authority.  The Coalition has been cuckolded by a slick PowerPoint presentation and soothing blandishments from people we were entitled to trust when we voted to accept the scheme last August.  What …..
