Impact of weak transport links on economic development of Wales (Written)

Alison Halford:

Will the Minister state what action he is taking to reduce the impact weak transport links have on the economic development of Wales. (OAQ22237)

Andrew Davies:

Good transport links play an important economic role and are recognised as a pre-requisite for economic development. This is acknowledged by A Winning Wales which highlights the importance of improved strategic transport corridors for the economy of Wales. The commitments set out in A Winning Wales are supported through the Trunk Road Programme and the Transport Grant programme of road and rail schemes which directly address specific economic needs in Wales.
